J.F., I've seen Friedman in several interviews with PBS's Charlie Rose, on C-SPAN and I've read Friedman's columns in the past. He's a salesman for globalization, and as such, I view him as being on the side of evil. He does occasionally come up with a good line though. Dated today, this was good in its time: "You'll never have MacDonald's across the globe, without McDonnell-Douglas." It pretty well sums up how interested the rest of the world really is in the dimmed-down, fatted-up "culture" we try to foist on the world.
