Pattern recognition can be part instinct and part art, ie Fibonnacci

I would think of the Fibonacci sequence as mathematics rather than art, but I guess you are referring more to the spirals (sunflower seeds, snail's shell, etc) all of which are very recognizable patterns. Obviously I was not talking about spirals when I said pattern recognition is a survival instinct. I guess you know what I mean after the other post I wrote, and anyway I still have no idea what you mean by this:

If no pattern exists, how can perceiving a pattern be "correct observation"???
