Wow. What is it about people accepting a position of power . . . running scared when it comes time to accepting responsibility that comes with it? The fact that NASA executives can hide behind a shield of anonymity is borderline criminal by nature. This should have congress in an uproar - immediately demanding all related documents and records for an independently contracted audit/investigation.

But then anymore, congress doesn't get in an uproar. This is the very same spirit of complacency that placed us in such a vulnerable position just prior to September 11th.

So buck up, Congress! Don't be afraid of upsetting the apple cart. Ruffle some feathers. Open some cans of worms. Point some fingers and roll some heads.

This much I can guarantee: by doing so, you will regain both integrity and authority, which have long since been eroded by political compromise. But more importantly, you will begin to restore the faith and admiration of the American people.

It is a lofty challenge that will likely go unnoticed, but I can't help but state it.

Rande Is (. . . all done waving flag and marching around room whistling "Hail To the Chief".)
