I hardly ended a discussion about the BBC; just the eternal back and forth with Nadine who thinks a conversation works best for her if she can keep changing the subject and accuse others in the conversation of being inflexible.

As for the role of the BBC, my experience watching it matched the author of the NYRB piece and the conclusion of that is the beginning for Krugman's piece this morning. Why do we see so much more media independence from a state owned media in Britian, critical even of its own government, and so much less from the US media supposedly free from the state. Good question and the answer is well argued.

Take a look. See if it changes your mind. Ah, but we all know about mind changing, don't we.
