Fox was famously critical of the government when Clinton was President, while the New York Times was not.

Not what the Clinton folk thought. They were angry, no end, with the NYTimes. They felt that the Times, particularly Jeff Gertz, I believe that's the name of the reporter who first opened up the WhiteWater stuff, was biased against them.

My guess is that the Fox stuff just dropped off the back like the proverbial water off a duck, since Fox was new and clearly only ideological. The Times stuff upset them because of the Times' place in the media star system.
