Wayne, Interesting procedure, I think you could do very well with dicipline and if you like the company.
Some high dividend stocks....
Ivaco.Pr.H converts into Dofasco common and pays (I think 8-9%)
Ivaco.Pr.I pays almost 10%
Ivaco is profitable, has alot of assets and of course I own them both..
I would also recommend ATCO, Noranda(3% so so) and Chrysler(really US)but listed on Toronto

Wayne, I have been looking for someone like you on SI who is experienced in Div Capture. It seems strange to me that few are doing this. Its seems to be either make a lot of money quick or buy mutual funds. This falls somewhere in between. And it seems that Greenspan and market indexes can't ever cause you to loose sleep anymore and I certainly would like that. Anyway, please let me know what happened to this thread, or what other thread is discussing this issue. Thanks, John

I like your approach Wayne & have always felt divident/stock price ratio history ie 5 years back, upward trend, is an effective stock pick approach even for a much longer buy & hold stratagy. The quick in & out sounds interesting too but probably more for Greenline bean counters than me. I have great difficulty timeing my sells hence I tend to hang on. I also use Greenline but still feel the $29.00 seems high compared to the US on line services.
My question for you though is:Where is a good site for tracking dividend/price ratios on line for Canadian stocks?
Thanks for your help & enjoyed your post
