I just read that the tax bill currently on the table eliminates foreign-earned income exemption.

Care to elaborate ? Heres what I am thinking your statement means. please correct as appropriate. :

If I as a US citizen find work in some other country where I pay taxes by virtue of living there, am I supposed to pay taxes in US + that other country ? If so, whats all the noise we've been hearing about 'bilateral taxation agreements' between US and many countries ?
