A man and wife School teacher combo can do very well. They don't think so, of course.

Oh yeah. There were BIG fights in Columbia County in the early 90s at school board meetings about raising taxes for, amongst other things, teacher raises. Really sparked a grassroots revolution. When lots of people in the districts are making just above minimum wage, and teachers are making 30-40 grand each, there's lots of pissed off taxpayers when they want more. My parent's neighbors were both high school teachers with decades of experience at the district, and they were bringing in 70 grand. The local paper published all their salaries. ;)

But that still isn't "rich," even by working class standards. Affluent, yes. Rich, no. Guess it all comes down to where we choose to make the distinction.
