<Religions aren't peaceful or warlike...> I have read a reference that there are 100 verses in the Qur'an exhorting muslims to kill Esai and Jahudis...So far on a first reading I have found 50+ that I have marked. We are told in erudite and pontifical tones and tomes that christianity and islam have both much in their past to be ashamed of. It is interesting that in my reading of the contradictory gospels, and they are very contradictory as statements of fact they propose to be, nowhere have I read that christians are to bring non-believers to the "faith" either by conversion of the sword or face death. Neither do/did the Jews. Adolph had that kind of thing pretty much in mind if history tells it true the ambitions of the Third Reich. Lenin had similar intentions. The christian propensity to spread the word withh the sword was a fairly later development some centuries after the founder's demise. But the 50+ verses I have found (of the alleged 100) are fairly explicit. If you really are interested in this claim of mine that this religion is a threat to the world as we in the west know it then you might start with Surah 9:5...but the whole damed book is boring. It happens to be the fastest growing religion in the world and the places where it thrives have the highest birthrates. And if you have an alternative to hydrocarbon based energy then you better get cracking. Most of the world's oil resources as now counted lie under muslims. If you are young enough to be around in 2025 or so then you will be happy to learn that you will share the planet and the 21st century with a population that is approximately 35% based on the teachings of a ravng epileptic, misogynist pedophile who did not believe, and his followers do not believe, in freedoms we take for granted in the First Amendment. I swear, DAK, I cannot find someone more reminiscent of your views in last few decades than Neville Chamberlain...Good luck. Jim Black
