I don't think it is rocket science for Sony or Kenwood to design a SkyFi clone.

Actually, Audiovox has already done it. They just haven't gotten it into production yet.

And I think Ford and the other partners are going to follow GMs lead in promoting the product

It is costing XM a huge amount of money for GM's support -- I think that's what separates the two today. It remains to be seen, years down the road, whether it was worth it or not. But Ford's & other SIRI parters' commitments are very weak compared with Ford. Ford turned out just to be dealer installs, which doesn't really cut it ... factory installs are what will make it happen.
