"I have some data/program in my old PC (386 or 486), which has only 5 1/4 floppy drive. I wish to move the content to my new PC which doesn't have 5 1/4 floppy drive."

Either Network cable or Serial cable & netfor2.com

Steve ...

the easy way ....

network the two boxes together
and
copy

OR

-------

use an external hard drive ... hook it up to the old box, get your stuff copied, hook it up to the new box, copy it to the new hard drive ...

----
it is "possible" that the new box will recognize your old hard drive if you install the old h/d into the new one as a slave ...
then copy to it

===

install the new hard drive into the old box with it as a slave and copy to it

I've not hooked up an old 5 1/4 floppy to a newer p4 ... never had any need to (thank heavens) ...<gggg>
but, I guess, that if you copied your data (I realize the program is large, but you did install it with that floppy) piecemeal to floppies you could then turn around and remove the floppy drive itself from the old box and install it into the new one ......

lots of ways to skin a cat ....
