<perhaps education will go back to basic subjects>

Yep, if ya got coin, you get the gold plated education. Of course that's not really new.

OTOH, good educations don't seem to stop plenty of misery:

retired,

perhaps education will go back to basic subjects, the stuff like drama, art, music might be kaput...

I never did care much for those bands at halftime. If they were to cut the funding for football, now THAT would be TRAGIC!!! <g>

Retired:

When I think about the number of individuals who are in prison and who do not deserve to be there (the current system almost forces many who get caught up in the net to "cop a plea"), as well as the many examples of outright evidence tampering that come to light so frequently these days, it makes me shudder. Even when one does have decent resources and chooses to fight, it can take years and you can go broke much more quickly than can the procecuting attorney. In court, the truth is many times not nearly as important as how skilful the legal minds are and god help you if your lawyer is not in the same league as his adversary.

The current justice system in N, America is a complete joke,..... if you are rich and know how to operate within the system, the probability of going to jail, even when a serious crime has been committed is very low. If you are poor and do not have access to (or cannot afford) good legal assistance, you will likely serve time, even when you have done nothing wrong. Many folks will plead guilty when they have done nothing wrong, just to get out of the damned sytem. A person can spend a remarkably long period in jail just awaiting a hearing.

Best, Earlie
