Somebody taking over the spending/consuming job from J6P? Let's hope for the best.J6P turning the current account around by revving up the machines? Let's hope for the best here too...

On a different note - but the same subject -

"Last year was the record year for the German exports to US. Of the total of 126,2B € in German current account plus in 2002 26,6 B are the exports to US, federal statistical office reports.

Pluses of about 20B were achieved also in exports to France and UK. The balance was positive in case of 170 trade partners out of the total of 240. The highest deficit was with Ireland - the imports were higher by 9.2 B than exports. There were also deficits of about 7B each in case of Japan, Norway and China..."

Will Germans now please stop exporting and start consuming? Please? I dont see it happen.

As a matter of national pride, not to mention hubris, I must correct you.

George 'Bush-it"(TM) is the "Lone Ranger".

The Candian Dollar is the "Loonie".

Or, have I got that backward. George Bush is a loonatic and the Canadians have a better dollar? Dang. I'm confused.
