you can skew the results depending on whom you call.

Then don't call anybody, just look into the breakdown of inflation figures yourself :-) You will see that for every deflation symptom (plunging commercial jet values, lower auto prices, cheaper PCs, etc) there is another inflation symptom (soaring medical costs, flying real estate prices, higher insurance prices, surging commodity prices, higher fuel prices etc).
