"America should not give up it's quest for peace, freedom and democracy in the world because the tyrants hate us." Good point. It is going to get more complicated than this though. In some parts of the world good people have been trying to organize strong resistance, even rebellion against tyrants. Unfortunately these people can be labeled as terrorists also. This is where intelligence services and education becomes more important than military conquest.
