Alcatel Buys US's TiMetra Through $150 Million Share Deal
Friday May 16, 2:56 am ET

PARIS -(Dow Jones)- French telecommunications equipment supplier Alcatel SA said Friday that it will acquire U.S. Internet network equipment maker TiMetra Inc. in an all-share transaction worth around $150 million.
Alcatel said it will buy all existing shares of the privately owned Californian company with Alcatel shares or Alcatel American depositary shares.

Alcatel said TiMetra makes edge routers - installed within the last mile of Internet networks - which Alcatel doesn't have in its portfolio of products.

TiMetra was founded in 2000 with the support of two capital firms - Accel Partners and Redpoint Ventures.
