If you are XLNK or ALTR buying wafers from a foundry, you probably buy raw, untested wafers and send them somewhere else to be tested and somewhere else to be assembled and then one more place for final test. If you are lucky, you eliminate the wafer test and only test a final product which is what they might do for an LED or diode.

From what you posted, I'm not sure why they listed a packaged price when talking about foundry costs... new math perhaps? -GGG-

I think I can tell you we bought wafers in Europe, tested them in Singapore, shipped them to Japan for UTEK solder bumps to be applied, then wafer assembly (wafer saw, die attach and solder), then back to Singapore for final test before shipment to the customer. It didn't make any sense to consider a "wafer cost" once it was out the door of the foundry.

If your numbers were for the fab's cost, profit margin, and computed revenue, package and final test don't need to be counted. They need to be counted for the fabless chip company's numbers.
