H-P Grants CEO Fiorina Option To Buy 700,000 Shrs

WASHINGTON -- Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) on April 16 granted Chairman and Chief Executive Carly Fiorina an option to purchase 700,000 shares of the company's common stock, according to a Form 4 filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The options have an exercise price of $15.745 a share and expire April 15, 2011. They become exercisable in 25% increments annually beginning on April 16, 2004.

Shares of Hewlett-Packard closed Wednesday at $17.42.

According to Hewlett-Packard's latest proxy, in January 2002, the company granted Fiorina a long-term incentive award of 850,000 options with an exercise price of $21.75 a share.
