Not so sure about "good investor". He doesn't ever sell stuff. Just buys. He has such an inflow of funds (or had, when he was our client) that just had to continue to invest in stuff, without ever selling anything :-)

Once in an emerging market, we heard there would be a large devaluation. We told him & asked to sell. He said, "Naah, it will come back up". Iirc, there was 15% overnight devaluation within the week. He sat it out. Within a year, he was again making profits on his positions.

He could have made a killing, though.
