Hawkmoon, Upon further examination, I've concluded that the mass graves that we are discussing very likely contain the remains of some of the 10,000 or so Shia rebels that the words of George H. W. Bush incited to engage in a revolt in the aftermath of the Gulf War I in 1991. As you will recall, Bush 41 cynically called upon the people of Iraq to rise up against Saddam Hussein in the days after our atrocious and criminal destruction of Iraq's retreating army on the "Highway of Death" in southern Iraq. Once the rebellion was in full stride, Bush betrayed the Shias and Kurds by allowing Iraq Republican Guard helicopter gunships to fly through U.S. air defenses and mow down the Shias and Kurds with utter impunity. Bush betrayed these Iraqi patriots who wanted nothing more than to establish self-rule and perhaps even "democracy" in Iraq. Instead, Bush complicitly worked with the tyrant to suppress the freedom fighters that Bush had fomented into action. Do we wonder why "they hate us"? Presented with the facts that your government is involved in an immoral, unethical and dishonest campaign of disinformation, you obsequiously attempt to show loyalty to a blatantly evil government. Have you no shame? Have you no decency, sir? I cannot for the life of me figure out just what patriotism means to you. You seem to see it as some sort of cover for any swindle that a criminal conspiracy like the Bushista junta cooks up to try to steal the planet's resources and impoverish the working people of the U.S. into the bargain.
