I guess Wolfowitz has really arrived, now that an observational comment like

Then up steps Paul Wolfowitz, saying that the Turkish military had not played "the strong leadership role that we would have expected

is interpreted in such a sinister manner, as an order to the military to blow up Turkish democracy.

A more neutral observer might noticed that the Turkish ruling party made a dog's breakfast of the whole affair, letting their opponents (ironically, generally more pro-American) embarrass them at home while exacting maximum irritation from the US and ensuring minimal influence in Iraqi/Kurdish affairs. Not to mention losing a $6 billion aid package, or whatever the final total was. But then such an observer would have to be someone other than HDS Greenway, a man who absolutely, reliably wrong about Mideast affairs.

As Charles Krauthammer said of the NYT editorial board, he is so consistently wrong that he has become reliable. A reliable contrary indicator.
