"The message struck with full force - although actually it was just moderately exciting. The Federal Statistical Office reported a drop of 0,2 % in German GDP for the first quarter 2003: the gross domestic product (GDP) sank that much compared to the last quarter 2002; growth at that time was 0,03 % lower in relation to the previous Q3. A somewhat friendlier impression makes the year to year comparison: plus 0,5 %. When calendar effects (number of the working days) are accounted for, however, only 0.2 % remains."
