Absolutly, The "deflationists" spin is that spending will contract, fact is that they won't spend because they don't have any money to spend as inflation took all the money they have.

In your scenario the US dollar will collapse faster than the prices will go up. Nothing happens in pure academic way. To me the coming/ongoing deflation is about squeezing the companies margins.
