Bug, misrepresenting Bush's plan in order to claim the "other alternative" is the best course is a transparent "straw man" argument. You proclaim the "better" answer to be a short-term broad injection of cash "to folks who would actually spend it" (your solution), rather than some imagined giveaway to the rich that excludes those "folks who would actually spend it." You are misrepresenting the Bush tax cuts by claiming that they are not broad-based, but only "give to the elite wealthy." Doing so does not make the case for an alternative that history shows does not work in stimulating the economy.
