To: LPS5 who wrote (17215 ) 5/19/2003 5:48:42 PM From: RockyBalboa Respond to of 32873 LP, I agree that closely held companies will perhaps not disclose terms and conditions for acquisitions, business combinations etc. But in this case a publicly traded entity GNET/Infospace is involved so I expected some minimum disclosure (save for absolutely neglectible values). But my questions would go much further, like: -How does matt/bob intend to make money with SIhub? (Well Bob mentioned that the model requires recurring instead of one-time revenues). -Absent from membership income, what kind of ads will be pushed to users? -What about content? Will it purely consist of message boards, and some proprietary resources or is it planned to turn it into a one-stop shop offering everything from quotes, JVs with brokers,... other value added (and value adding) resources like prime broker research, discounted subscriptions etc? (Bob mentioned that the news feed is turned off). -What about the resources which have been assigned to the old SI (like Mr. Busby or the other thread sheriff, Jeff). Have they been taken over by ihub or is Matt and Bob doing everything by themselves? Who bears the costs resulting from the possible displacement of old INSP personnel? -Outside sources of financing? Does SIhub perhaps sell stock (to members?), and be listed on the BB? There might be lots more of questions and again I do not expect any answers forthcoming. But I remember - even in a golf club one is treated as a member and is receiving regular updates on the club's financial condition and future plans...and not like a 1minute passer-by at the local burrito's. Secondly, I raised the question about the possibility of participation (through owning shares) because I'm quite used to do that: if I like a product, or I find the prospects interesting I often decided to invest in the company through buying stock, and even if it is a tobacco company (there has been the possibility to invest through buying infopace)...That said, I think that a lack of a listing of SIHub shares would still influence my activity much less than the introduction of new fees or a restrictive thread policy as proposed by less well meaning individuals. best regards M.
