I've read of lines 7 miles long being lost and becoming floating fish traps. Many times even though all the hooked fish are dead they only keep 10%. Shark fin fishing. Sheesh. Audubon did an article on that. 500 pound sharks caught, the fins removed and the fish are tossed back alive to die. Lots of wasted food there. The Japanese also don't use TEDS on their shrimp boats. That's Turtle Excluding Devices. They kill a lot of endangered turtles just to get a few more shrimp.
