>>>What year is that and what does that have to do with the taking of Palestinian Jewish, Christian, and Moslem land by foreigners?<<<

The year is irrelevant, the mentality is still the same.
This mentality is also the reason for what has been going on in the ME in general and Israel in particular. If it wasnt for that mentality, there would have been no need for land taking,eh?

This nicely sums up the Israel/Palestine debate in America. It is normally suppressed completely, but when allowed, it goes something like this:

The "Israeli" side:

"The basic trouble with the two-state solution is that the Palestinians themselves do not want it. Hamas says so, Hizbullah says so, and Arafat says so in Arabic as if no one could translate."

(Patently false, since the Palestinians have repeatedly offered Israel for a two-state solution for decades. To add to the deception, there is no mention of the Israeli rejectionists, who are far more mainstream than Hamas.)

The "Palestinian" retort:

"No one actually knows the answer to the question, how would the Palestinians react to a two state solution, until it's tried, seriously"

Not patently false. More like absurd. Why wonder how they would react to something they have been shouting to the whole world? And this charade passes for intellectual fare.
