From the dictionary definition of intellectual, I just cannot see logic that "intellectual failure" in the context presented is patently false. You may claim it is false if you wish but calling it patently false is an "intellectual failure" look up intellectual and my simple logic should be obvious to any real intellectual.

You are saying you LIKE him, and that's fine. But to overlook his intelletual failures is not affection, it's harmful to him.

I don't like him, and thus am not in any danger of giving him the false hope that he has any insight whatsoever.

Just ask yourself if you'd REALLY want to be stuck in a hole with him, while the Marxist/Leninist anti-American enemy is bearing down on you, and you'll understand...
