Or a better analogy would be that more Africans have been killed by Africans than by the Apartheid regime in South Africa. That regime, incidentally, was given huge economic and military support by Israel.

I am having trouble following the point in this strand of the conversation. More Americans are killed by other Americans than by Canadians, Chinese, Arabs, Australians. That some Americans have been killed by terrorist acts of the Al-Quaida still has significance. It is also significant that the Israelis and Palestinians kill each other even though the Palestinians have other enemies. Israel is a pretty young country but if the world at war lasts a while longer they will likely have more enemies than just Arabs. They are hardly the role model for peaceful coexistance.
