Sometimes the first part of resolving a problem is admitting that you have one out loud. I find most people who get themselves in this kind of fix keep it to themselves at all cost or worse they hide it from themselves as well as everyone else. What they really need to do is acknowledge that they have let things get out of control. I don't recommend doing this by talking to a reporter, but I do know that many people reading about this couple's predicament will be spurred on to face their own problems with credit and money. I think there will be any number of people who will be swearing off credit cards in the near future.
