I had a long phone call, so I just caught the last hour of it. It is a pretty interesting production. I also agree that it is rich in potential insight. Hitler hit the right themes: it was not our fault that we lost, the valorous German military was betrayed by the politicians; the other European powers are trying to strangle us with the Versaille Treaty, which we should repudiate; the source of our woes are those bound to be hostile to the German Nation, that is, the international Bolsheviks and international Capital, both dominated by the rootless Jews. The German Volk must assert itself under the leadership of someone who can express the Will of the Nation. Etc. Thus, teeling people what they long to hear (that they are absolved from responsibility, that they were betrayed, that they need not honor commitments, and so forth) is the best way of mobilizing the masses.............
