You said - "popular culture does have an influence on the wider culture." To discuss this in any meaningful way you would have to provide a definition of "popular culture" and a definition of "wider culture".

Further you asserted that "You merely asserted something, without argument, that study after study has shown to be untrue:" and then had the audacity not to cite any authority or example to back up your argument.

I went to watch Matrix II at the only giant screen in Denver last Thursday night. It was packed of course and sold out days in advance. The age group of the audience was 18 to 25, with a spiked, pierced, and goth type presentation. I didn't see anyone that looked older than that (outside of my own skin).
