It's the way I've got the database set up on iHub. Actually, Settings, Filters, and Configuration are stored in 3 separate tables joined to the user table. This is because most people use the defaults, so I don't eat up storage space for people who don't modify those things.

Settings and Configuration are different items on iHub and will be here.

Settings contains things like enabling/disabling audio message alerts, sounds and graphics in messages, auto-refresh of the Favorites page (iHub's equivalent of SubjectMarks, but also includes the equivalent of PeopleMarks), size of batches when reading batches of messages, etc.

Configuration is all of the Cascading Style Sheet stuff. Each user can make specific style (fonts, colors, sizes, etc) changes that're stored in the database and used to build a CSS unique to each user.
