"NEOCON"'s ERROR
The current opposition that controls the Democrat party was not envisioned by the Founders, except in times of war or extreme national stress. The "loyal opposition", i.e., the kind of Republicans who opposed Roosevelt, or the kind of liberals personified by Harry Truman, JFK, or Hubert Humphrey, presented various manifestations of quasi-socialism, but stood firm as PRO-American, and, in the cases of those named, FOUGHT FOR AMERICAN INTERESTS in their PUBLIC LIVES. The only sin the Democrats had before 1970 was being wrong about economics and the role of government in society. Such a presentation, even though wrong-headed, served the purpose intended by the Founders-which was to keep debate open and decision-making honest (a critical, though hidden, element of checks and balances). The only obligation of conservatives was to present their viewpoints efficiently, and to affect as much policy with it as possible. (That, of course, was ALSO the only obligation of the liberal side, also).
It all changed in 1970. You can blame Vietnam if you want, but that's beside the point this far in the future. THE POINT IS THAT THE OPPOSITION BECAME ANTI-AMERICAN IN 1970 AND HAS REMAINED SO, PASSIONATELY, EVER SINCE. (and I refer, here, to those who LEAD the cheap political hacks, who will always exist, in either of our parties.)
While periodically defeated and frustrated-as during the Reagan era and today-the RADICAL LEFT, what I call the MARXIST/LENINIST left (because they have adopted the political tactics and propaganda methods of that murderous, oppressive, but spectacularly-successful 20th century phenomenon), the NEW OPPOSITION has remained solidly ANTI-AMERICAN, ANTI-WEST, and ANTI-HUMANITY in its beliefs, presentation, and-when in power-its METHOD OF GOVERNING. The following represent just the MOST VISIBLE EXAMPLES:
1) RACISM: They have manipulated the low-income, illiterate segment of the black community by playing on their traditional bigotry against the white population. They have used them as cannon fodder for elections, and have spared no effort to convince them, when a Democrat LOSES, that the "white folk" are denying them "their voice". This is the most outrageously cynical exercise in race-baiting in the post-WWII era, and would have been CONDEMNED by Truman, Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Humphrey, and any prominent Democrat prior to the late 1960's.
2) ANTI-CAPITALISM: LIE after LIE is perpetrated against the private sector, regulation after regulation is supported, while any rational cost/benefit is condemned as being proposed by people who would "poison the air and water", "leave unsafe products in the marketplace", etc., etc. The most effective tactic: encouraging and supporting the horde of avaricious barbarians of TORT LAWYERS to pervert the laws to destroy the private sector wherever it is successful. The lies in support of confiscatory taxation are designed NOT to create prosperity or provide for some theoretical future, but to strangle the private sector and create a bureaucratic tyranny to replace our free republic.
3) ANTI-HUMANITY: The anti-American left supports, with propaganda and appropriations, an entire field of pseudo-science, transferring grant money to credentialed quacks to support frauds like "acid rain" and "global warming". The socialized school systems are DESIGNED to proliferate illiteracy so as to limit future opposition to the new tyrants, and the academy-institutions intended to PRESERVE WESTERN CIVILIZATION-have been swamped with a combination of LOSERS and anti-American, anti-humanity ideologues, accountable to no one, in the guise of "academic freedom".
This DOMESTIC ENEMY is a corrupt cancer which cannot be tolerated if we want America to survive as a free nation. It must not only be defeated, but PURGED from all institutions of influence, including politics, academia, the "arts", the professions, and-especially-the media.
We SWEAR presidents to defend America against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. George Bush is taking his oath SERIOUSLY (unlike the failure who preceded him). The anti-American left, after 30+ years IS FINALLY ON THE RUN, and it is ERRORENOUS to deny its existence, or the damaging effect it has had on our republic for three decades... |
