I really think that Arafat doesn't have much say about anything these days, actually. You want to think he's pulling strings in Saudi and Morocco, that's your privilege, of course. Maybe Debka has some lines to go with those dots, I couldn't say. Somewhere back in the dim recesses, I recall reading that Israeli intelligence actually helped set up Hamas as a political counterweight to Arafat and the PLO. Brilliant strategy there, I wonder if they were getting advise from he-who-must-not-be-named on that one.
