Have you ever wondered what life is?

By which I mean, that which is the difference between things that are living and things that are not.

One human body is living. Another isn't. We can observe the physical differences. But what IS the life force that makes one alive, sentient, the other not?

If we could create in the laboratory the same molecular structure that an amoeba has, would it be alive? Or is there something more needed that we can't add in the laboratory because we haven't identified or isolated it?

I don't know any biologist or philosopher who has ever answered this question. Do you?

Allow me to offer my congratulations on the truly admirable skill you have shown in keeping clear of the mark. Not to have hit once in so many trials, argues the most splendid talents for missing.
