Eric L: Chuckle and cheers.

That Verizon is choosing 1x EV DO as 3G (which most of us would agree with BTW) indicates a tactical advantage Verizon may see when it has 1x EV DO nationwide.

The fun of course is that it will take a combination of plain ole 1x (for voice) and 1x EV DO (for data) to operate a 3G system. So what is that?

Clearly what matters is what can be done regardless of the label applied.

I see this as a very good sign. Verizon would not put out such a slide unless it intended to move to 1x EV DO nationwide sooner rather than later.

To me, that's "all she wrote", or to put it another way, game, set and match.

With BREW and 1x EV DO, the competition in the US melts - just like a candles burning away. Verizon will have elecricity relatively speaking.

Thanks for the good news.

Best.

Question: Do Nokia and Texas Instruments have a 1x EV DO chip to insert into a phone to sell to Verizon?

It would be best to respond to iHub posts on iHub. No need to import dissension; we generate enough of our own here.

Thanks,
