Win, Before you go right off the rails with this:

I somehow doubt that Mr. Moral Clarity or any other conservative moralist holds much with the camel and the eye of the needle business either. The conservatives have a monopoly on "correct" theology along with every other form of "truth", is my understanding.

I am a small 'c' conservative and historically would be called a 'liberal'. I despise William Bennett, Alan Bloom, Kristol and the rest. For the same reason I despise Pual Krugman. They say they know what's good for me, and they don't. They are nosy parkers and Mrs Grundies and in the case of Bennett, a big, FAT hypocrite.

I also support Dubya and the Iraq invasion and I expect the outcome will be successful for the Iraqis and the US. It's already been a lmited success because Hussein is no longer in power, the Syrians are starting to feel a new kind of heat, and the Iranian Mullhs are unhappy with the new proximity of US power.

So far, so good.

(I also think Dubya's tax cuts -all 750 billion especially the dividend and capital gains tax relief, ask any pension fund manager- are good economics and I can't understand the hysteria about deficits. What's the problem? Do folk think the US economy is not going to grow ever again?)
