Miljenko:

So far as I know, rebound insomnia--which by definition is worse than the symptoms that existed before treatment--shows up very quickly. Its duration is often referred to as 'a few days', though I saw something by Henry Roth that cited a "1-2 day" duration. Since he has been NBIX's consultant and guest star on indiplon conference calls, his definition is likely operative at NBIX. I have yet to see a compelling explanation for why it occurs--a sudden exaggerated return of receptor conformation from its altered-by-binding state? That's just an off-the-cuff guess. But my understanding is that, if you don't see it quickly after drug cessation, you won't see it at all.

Based on this, two days may indeed be sufficient for a declaration of victory. If there is literature to the contrary, II'd be interested in seeing it.
