That sounds like the premise for a point never made. Are you suggesting salary and option compensation would even be higher than now .. if the large technology companies were located in areas with smaller labor pools?

There are some regions where high-tech talent is scarce. There are other regions where it is abundant. In some cases, superior to the average talent available in SV.

The issue is capital plus talent in the appropriate proportion. If the scarcity is talent, that takes time to solve. If the scarcity is capital however, that can be solved very rapidly.
