The ISP thinks they may've found the cause of the outages. Specifically, one of their techs playing with SQL Server and apparently not having the latest patches. I know from experience that a SQL Server box that doesn't have all the latest patches will get taken control of by a virus as soon as it gets an internet connection and will use all the available bandwidth to send out spam. This was happening on a machine at my office a while back.

They checked and whenever he fired up SQL Server, bandwidth utilization was spiking to about 28Mbps.

They've smacked him around for it and assure me this was the cause of the problem and it won't happen again.

bob, no change in page display delays for me (still about 3 sec to 10 sec delay vs. almost instant prior to maintenance). also pm's are way long delays to having to click submit several times (after 15 or 60 second waits) to get one acceptance. hope this gets cleared up sometime soon.
