Thanks for the links.... but its all about perception.
Nobody likes the thought of eating something that will destroy their brain.
With only 135 people having died globally.... that's about 1/5th of the recent toll from SARS...., not to mention the many thousands killed by drunk drivers globally..., who also suffer from a brain disease....
Mad Cow remains a vivid perception....

In any case the ban on Canadian beef will cause serious problems for those who own the 1.7 million head of cattle no longer shipped to the USA...., it will hurt the Canadian dollar and the entire economy, especially the west.
And it will add to deflationary pressures.
