Deutsche Telekom (DT) CEO Kai-Uwe Ricke said at the company's annual shareholder meeting that he does not expect consolidation in the U.S. mobile phone industry to be imminent, AFX reported. The company currently has 10.8 million subscribers in the U.S., the sixth-highest number. Ricke said he expects to reach critical mass in the next two years. DT (DE:555750) shares in Frankfurt were 3.5 percent higher.

Deutsche Telekom (DT) (DE:555750) may still float its T-Mobile phone unit publicly, although there are no plans to do so, CEO Kai-Uwe Ricke said to the company's annual shareholder meeting, AFX reported. He added that if such a move were made, it would not necessarily be to cut debt. Deutsche Telekom shares were up 3.5 percent in Frankfurt.
