But the real reason the old economy is gone is because it was built on a foundation of sand.(.Com and Service) The true economy has rested in the manufacturing base held by the U.S.When neglected for 8 years it dissolved. This also allowed the Democrats the power to be elected to office. Once the Democrats stopped helping the people they represented, allowed Unions to manipulate funds to democratic party and took away rights held by workers, along with the transfer of thousands of jobs oversea's and to Mexico, the country had no base. Even though the industrial revolution has all but ended, we as a country could have stayed powerful economically with a sound middle class, a manufacturing employment base, and a strog economy. We bet on the interenet and lost.... (Thank You! Al Gore)
