<IMVHO, higher interest rates would mean yet weaker USD.>

The history of the currency market points to this (higher rate) response, following severe currency declines. It may seem a little strange to us talking about it right this minute, but we have to stay ahead of the curve, and as our friend loantech says: A-N-T-I-C-I-P-A-T-E (whew, that was hard typing). Don't think the US is immune to currency defenses. It's a way to keep foreign and flight capital at home. Heck, even I have a bunch of Loonie based assets, including some just in cash. What's my rush on converting back to USD? Little, with 1% USD money market.
