Compton, that's another story.

People who have not been there think that South Central, Watts, Compton, etc are high rise slums, such as you might find in New York.

In reality, they are small suburban homes, roughly 800 SF each, on large 72'by 100' lots. Most were built in the 30s and 40s. They are inhabited by hard working people who look after them, have chain fences and gang lights, and hate the "Riff Raff", as they call them, who cruise their streets.
