It is a basic fact that Germany fought with Finland (in Finland) but Finland did not fight with Germany (in the rest of Europe). Got it?? You need to take another look at that air-force emblem, with some luck you can decide that Finland and India were allied since maybe 3,000 BC or even earlier. Something about turning, like a propeller, although this one is funnier "When the fortunes of war turned", as long wars are seldom a question of "fortune" in the meaning "luck", however, in the meaning of "material possessions" it is fairly accurate. I also hope you know the meaning of extricate, "To release from an entanglement or difficulty; disengage." as nobody thought it would be simple to have a border some 20-30 miles from St Petersrburg (which turns 300 years these days) just before WW2.
