The first link is what I consider to be perhaps the best relatively recent and publicly available Multimedia Messaging overview. It explores MMS, defines its general architecture, and compares it to SMS and NSM/EMS and it does a good job of highlighting the issues that are being, or need to be worked through, and the various groups involved in working those issues (and the good news is that after page 11 it's in English <g>). Some are rather dated. Presumably new whitepapers from Ericsson (who had a very good early whitepaper) and Nokia are in progress. 1.) Multimedia Messaging It is important to note that the document referenced above is 9 months old and a great deal has transpired since it was written, but it is quite comprehensive.inforge.unil.ch 2.) M-Services Requirements Phase II [GSMA PRD SE.25 February 2003] This (zipped) "M-Services Requirements Phase II" document (in its 3rd revision) discusses requirements for "Q4 '03 to Q1 '04' Deliverable Products", including but not limited to MMS:gsmworld.com 3.) Operator Requirements for Features & Services [GSMA PRD SE.26 January 2002] As a historical reference this document has considerable significance because it represents the first output of the GSMA E2E Fast Track task force and is its first roadmap. It documents a list of services and begins the analysis of which Features and which Enablers are required to implement each service. It focuses on MMS and LBS:gsmworld.com 4.) Next Messaging (Mobile Streams) Dated, but a good intro to SMS, EMS, and MMSmobilewhitepapers.com or link from here:mobilewhitepapers.com also:mobileems.com 5.)
