Investors Intelligence reported today that their Bearish Consensus fell to an
extremely low 20.9%, the second lowest reading over the past decade. That
makes the third consecutive week we've seen the II Bearish Consensus come in
below 25%, meaning less than 1 in 4 newsletter writers considers themselves
bearish on stocks. That's typically not a good sign for the market. We've only
seen six instances in the history of the Investors Intelligence survey in
which the Bearish Consensus came in under 25% three consecutive weeks. In
every case the stock market was trading lower either 4 or 6 weeks later.
