I know that not too long ago, they discovered original notes Reagan had made for some radio commentaries, I believe in the 50's. Most people had assumed that someone else wrote the commentaries, which were reportedly quite well-thought out (I haven't heard or read them), and they were surprised at the evidence that Reagan wrote them himself.

Both Reagan and W have the virtue of humility. Unfortunately in our smart-ass culture that's often mistaken for ignorance.
